An optometrist is a health care professional with a Doctor of Optometry degree. He or she will examine your eyes and visual system for abnormalities or defects as well as prescribing the optical or muscle imbalance correction with glasses or contact lenses.
The optometrist will diagnose, treat and manage diseases and disorders of the eye or refer to an ophthalmologist for further assessment and or surgery.
